In the second of our special guest blogs to mark World Mental Health Day, we hear from frontline adult social worker and practicing Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Ingrid Richardson. She explains the important role of social work in connecting people with services, breaking down barriers within and between organisations and the power of personal experience in professional practice.
Ingrid has practiced as a social worker at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust since 2007, having previously worked in learning disability day services and home care.
Her mental health career has been spent working across adult community and crisis teams in various roles, before commencing a professional leadership role as the Trust’s Consultant Social Worker for social work and social care for adults in 2017.
Ingrid is currently a practicing AMHP.
