Neil Sanyal

Neil Sanyal is a social worker and an AMHP. He works part-time for Hampshire County Council in the AMHP Hub and has been an ASW/AMHP for 30 years.

He was heavily involved with the national Delivering Race Equality in Mental Health Strategy from 2004 – 2010 in Hampshire.

Since March 2022, Neil has delivered training sessions on Allyship for Race Equality to AMHPs, social workers and social work students around the country.

Neil is a coopted member of the National AMHP Leads Network Steering Group and the National NHSE PCREF Monitoring Group.

October is an important month as it marks World Mental Health Day and Black History Month. These two themes were explored at a brilliant webinar on anti-racist perspectives and the Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) role.
